Prioritize your most important tasks (MIT). Separate the most urgent from the least important. Access the value of each task in order of importance and add an estimated time for completion to your task list. This process will prevent you from forgetting your top priorities in favor of tasks for which you have time. 6. How to own and defend your time

The first thing you need to do is take the time to complete one of the biggest rewards for everything you’ve done so far: create a to-do list. List the things you need to do in 10 minutes that you can use this list as inspiration the next time you receive a gap in your day. By creating a list, you will find small tasks that can be done in a few minutes. [Sources: 4, 6, 7]

When we estimate how long a task will take, we are often tempted not to complete it because the time allotted to perform the task is too big. If the task takes longer than 10 minutes, the solution to resolve tis issue is to split it into smaller tasks. With the 2-minute rule, you can schedule the time on your list for each of the days in that order. [Sources: 1, 6, 7]

Choose the three most important tasks of the day and concentrate on getting them done at a given time. This means that you are not looking at your to-do list or opening your email, but focusing on the tasks you need to focus on today. The tasks that advance your goals for the day, week or month will make you more efficient and permit you focus more on time…
