A speck in the universe

Watching the world from the backseat of my blue Camry much like my subconscious, gingerly rocking on the balls of her feet pacing back and forth in the makeshift cell I created out of childhood trauma.

The horror in my eyes, transcending through my being, a sour reflection in my rearview mirror, as I come to terms with the brooding reality that this is the life we have to live. Watching humanity die a death that the grave does not end but creates a stepping stone to another world where we pull down the walls our ancestors built and trample on them singing songs of new, mocking the wisdom they passed on to us.

What is eternity, but a punishment from the gods, here we do not crave eternity, rather feet of gold and hands of silver, a facsimile of heaven but I am the embodiment. We are the embodiment.

No fervent quest for an afterlife just a putrid existence in the minutes after now. The seconds that just flew by, our being walking past dancing lucidly at the cameras attached to them.

That is how memories are formed.

Tim, the keeper of the universe jotting down things you are bound to forget and weaving it around the pod carrying your soul so that if you reached out enough, you lay hold of the hours lost.

I breathe in the air of the singular thing I have attached to my name, the car my father bought me before he went on to meet the stars in the sky, sedated with poor choice and hopes for a ratched night, where I pull in another man whose name the seconds will hold for me because my memory is mesh reincarnated.

And make him make me chant things, time may be too shy to write in its little notebook and start the engine.

An infinitesimal dot in the galaxy has just decided tonight is not the night she joins the constellation. She still has a few more names she would like to chant.
